Blaser’s 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain Wallenford comes from the most exclusive growing area.
Blaser’s 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain is an absolute treat and even leaves the most renowned coffee aficionados gushing.
The small amount of this varietal that comes to the market makes it the most sought after and expensive coffee in the world. As soon as you have the first cup you will know why Blaser’s Jamaica Blue Mountain from the famous Wallenford estate is trade as the Barolo amongst coffees. Even today the raw beans are shipped in wooden barrels indicating their special status.
The medium roasting which only the most experienced roasters perform brings out the typical characteristics of this coffee with its special richness and body.
Jamaica Blue Mountain is a special treat for any connoisseur of coffee. It is rich and full in flavour, harmonious, fruity and high acidity. The aroma is intense and bold. The flavour prevails unusually long and unfolds when sipping it.
Genuine Blue Mountain belongs among the varietals growing at very high elevations and is cultivated almost exclusively on small estates such as Wallenford, Silver Hill or Atlanta estates.
When Arabica was introduced to Martinique in the 18th century an unforeseen career was in the making for the immaculate Blue Mountain coming from the mountain range of the same name fetches top prices in the raw coffee market worldwide.
90% of the harvest is bought by Japan. Other buyers are the United States and Great Britain. In 1997 Jamaica exported about 1800 tonnes. In contrast to other coffees Jamaica Blue Mountain is shipped in wooden barrels of 154lb each. 2.20lbs are £ 80.00.
During the hurricane about 4 weeks prior to last year’s crop about 60-70% of the fruits were destroyed which drove prices for first-class coffee to astronomical heights.
