Blaser’s Galapagos San Cristobal espresso is a rare treat made of 100% Arabica Bourbon beans.
Galapagos coffee with the tortoise as its trademark is at least unofficially regarded as high grade organic coffee.
Blaser Kaffee from Bern is actually raw coffee trader. Yet because there is too much inferior coffee in the market they decided years ago to roast the best highland qualities by themselves. For Blaser’s Galapagos San Cristobal they chose only the best Arabica Bourbon coffee from first-class plantations. This is somehow reflected in the price, but very much so in its quality. That is why real pros prefer Blaser’s Galapagos San Cristobal to the authentic Jamaica Blue Mountain because of its richness and broad spectrum of aromas. Blaser’s Galapagos is cultivated and harvested on the Hacienda de Coffea on San Cristobal island.
At least unofficially, because it is lacking the German quality seal, Galapagos San Cristobal coffee is considered organic coffee. There are very strict criteria under which only 700 bags of this Arabica Bourbon are produced a year. Import and use of pesticides, herbicides artificial fertilisers and any other chemicals are even banned by law. In the first place this is because of the famous Galapagos tortoises, however coffee cultivation also profits from this resolution. Blaser’s Galapagos San Cristobal is full-bodied and has fantastic variety of fruity overtones.
This is really a treat for those silent moments when we can fully relish and appreciate quality. All those strict criteria are reflected a little in the price, but most of all in the quality. 0.55lb of Blaser’s Galapagos San Cristobal make about 35 cups which reduces the price per cup to only £0.28. |
